Most municipal boards reorganize annualy, usually after town elections. While board members can be edited, we do not recommend editing board members to reflect the new board.
Rather, we recommend creating a new board in MuniMins whenever a board is reorganized or new members are appointed. For example, instead of keeping a single “Select Board,” create separate boards such as “FY26 Select Board” and “FY27 Select Board.”
This approach has a few important benefits:
- Historical meetings keep the correct board membership attached to them.
- Backlogged minutes remain accurate without constant member edits.
- Voice profiles stay with members across boards. When setting up a new board, simply choose “Add Existing Member” and their voice profile will carry over automatically from day one.
- Meeting records stay clean and organized year-over-year.
Remember, there is no limit to the number of boards in your account, so there’s no need to try and limit the number of boards you have in MuniMins.
